What’s New for 2012!
November ’11
In 2010 we unveiled Q & R sections for overnight camping. In 2011 we expanded B section for seasonal lots. These campsites were built large and were designed for todays long and wide campers and RV’s. For 2012 we will be accepting reservations for new campsites in C and D section.
Most of these sites have been drawn on the maps we handed out in 2011, so grab your copy to familiarize yourself with C 39-42 offering pull-thru concrete, sewer, 50-amps, and a large patio for your enjoyment. These sites are amply shaded and nestled away from the main roads offering a little more privacy.
D 43, D 44, and D 58S and D 59S have also been completed offering a back-in version of the C sites without sewer. These have the largest patios of any overnight site on our park. D 58S and 59S are not yet noted on any maps, and are located just behind D58 & D59 on the small access road between C and D section. The S in the name designates that it is south of its ’cousin’. Hey-we are running out of numbers so we had to be creative!
For those of you who enjoy 50-amps, we have great news! Last year we upgraded all of C section to 50-amps. For 2012 all of the Mini-Golf sewer sites will also have 50-amps. We completed this work just before Thanksgiving! As soon as time allows we will be upgrading some of the concrete E section sites, and a few E section grass sites too. Watch for news and updates on that pending work.
The dryer than normal fall allowed us to tackle another very important project, tree planting. We actually began this project in 2009 by removing100 old trees and planting 75 new ones. In early November or this year we purchased Twenty Pin Oaks that were between ten and thirteen foot tall. They were delivered and planted by a local nursery. We were also able to take advantage of a federal tree planting program and purchased 90 trees that were two to three years old. We feel this work work will definitely give us a head start on tree replacement as the Emerald Ash Borer continues to ravage the Midwest. Here is a break down of what we have completed.
| Fall Tree Program 2011 | |
|---|---|
| 20 Pin Oaks | Large 10-13 foot, transplanted from local nursery |
| 20 Assorted Maples | Transplanted from a wild grove near lake |
| 25 Pin Oaks | 6-7 foot |
| 25 Silver Maples | 6-7 foot |
| 10 Bur Oak | 5-6 foot |
| 8 Swamp White Oak | 5-6 foot |
| 10 Kimberly Oak | 5-6 foot |
| 6 Shag Bark Hickory | 18 inches (slow grower) |
| 6 Pecan | 5 foot |
As you can tell, we are investing into our park every year to keep up with the times and to plan for the future. We hope you continue to enjoy the park, and we encourage you to bring a friend on your next trip. Have a great holiday season and we will see you at an RV show, or here camping next Spring!
